The Committee for Educational Guidance for Arab Students was founded in 1991 by a group of Arab Palestinian university graduates to improve educational opportunities for Palestinian Arabs living in Israel and to increase the number of Arab students in Israel’s universities.  By encouraging young people to go on to higher education and by working to end discrimination in the halls of academia, we believe we can help the Palestinian community advance socially and economically, and ultimately, gain full equality for Israel’s Arab citizens. 

CEGAS is a non- profit community organization, officially recognized by the Israeli Non- profit Registrar. The voluntary Board of Directories includes nine members that are active in the fields of education, guidance counseling, community development, and law. The Board of Directories is elected annually and is responsible for approving the Annual Report, the Budget, and the Activity Plan, and meets bi- monthly to review progress and offer feedback and direction.

• A certificate from the Ministry of Finance for donations.
• A proper management by the Israeli Non- profit Registrar.
• A local broadcasting certificate for educational programs by the Ministry of Communication.
• A publication certificate for an educational guidance booklet by the Ministry of Education.
